To The Netherlands…

We have arrived in the Netherlands via the least direct route possible. After saying goodbye to Jen, Matt and Ruby in Los Angeles, it was off to LAX, home of Tom Bradley Terminal, which we deemed the least friendly/intersting/functional international terminal in the world, save Hyderabad.  After the last of the phone calls to family and friends we headed for Paris on direct flight.  We had a layover in CDG airport there, and then it was off to London Heathrow for a five hour layover.  Lucky for us, we weaseled into the fantastic lounge and showers in the British Airways departures hall, and had some Wagamama’s for lunch.   Then it was onto another plane bound for Amsterdam.  Upon arrival, our luggage (which we stupidly checked for the first time in years) was still in Paris, and we were wearing the same clothes we’d been in for 36 hours.  Little lesson I learned: being wary of the luggage checking system is warranted and traveling with a spare change of clothes is necessary.

Glad to be in Amsterdam, and on our way to Alkmaar!
