I have rented a car and managed to drive it to the hotel with no problems! It was easier than I figured, what with all the bicycles and mopeds flying around. I am proud of myself!
Tonight we are off to Delft in the Netherlands, a city which purports to feel like a small town. Hopefully it will go well, and we will have a great time seeing that area, learning about Delftware, and traveling to The Hague to see the Mauritshuis museum (home of more Vermeer and Rembrandt works) tomorrow. Then after the sightseeing we are off to Brussels, Belgium to meet up with our very good friends Ellie and Dan! I am so excited, because we haven’t seen them for quite a few months, and I am looking forward to it a lot!
Ellie is an artist based in the Brooklyn area, and has been a big inspiration for me. You can see her work here. She’s been in Groningen for a few months as exchange student at the Frank Mohr Institute and currently has an exhibition at DeFKa Campis in Assen. Sadly, Eric and I didn’t make it out to Assen to see it. We are planning on going to a few museums in Brussels and catching up. I’m looking forward to getting a better understanding of what the exhibition was like.
