Versailles

We arrived in Versailles, to be greeted by more rain.  We were supposed to be camping, but it had been pouring for days.  Luckily we were at a campground called Huttopia, which had tent cabins, and regular cabins, and gypsy caravans.  We checked into a waterproof tent cabin and spent a couple of nights there.  Our tent cabin had a refridgerator, a stove and even two little tent rooms with beds in them.  Pretty cool!  Huttopia was very nice, and had a swimming pool and laundry and a bar and cafe.  It was also close to the Palace of Versailles, which was amazing!

The Palace of Versailles was constructed hundreds of years ago, and is gigantic.  We walked around inside and checked out all of the guided decorations, chandeliers, and fancy furniture.  Even the wallpaper was velvet flocked.  The number of textures and colors in the Palace was fascinating.  There must have been ten kinds of marble which the fireplaces and floors were constructed from.  There were also giant fireplaces that rival even the ones at the Madonna Inn.  Really, the Palace of Versailles reminded me of the Madonna Inn repeatedly, albeit on a larger scale.  Due to the rain we didn’t really get to appreciate the gardens as much as we would have liked, but we did walk out to the fountain area and check out the grad view.
